Type 1- Up and over garage door
This type of garage door has the ability to swing. These doors work in such a way that firstly it swings outwards later in upwards direction and lastly in the track of the ceiling of the garage. A drawback having this type of doors is that it requires a lot of space. You must install this door only if you have enough space as it wants space to swing properly and with ease. The space should be enough on both the ends. If you have an undersized driveway then it might not be possible for you to have this type of garage door.
Type2- Roller doors
If you have a short driveway then the roller door is the best option. This type of garage door is specially designed to meet the less space condition. It is the simplest of all the garage doors and it will open by rolling upwards towards the ceiling. For having this type of garage door, there is no need to have maximum space. Most of the times, the roller doors are completely automatic specially in the places where the weather is bad and you are unable to get out of the vehicle , open the door and then park it inside.
Type 3- Swing hung garage doors
If you wish to have a traditional type of garage door, then you should opt for swing hung garage door. But for having this type of garage door, you need enough space. If you have a narrow driveway then the swing hung garage door would not work well for you. On the other hand, if space is not the problem and you want to have a traditional and cheap garage door, then this type is the best.
Type 4- Sectional garage port door
The sectional garage port doors will not require much space. This type of door is divided into sections. Hence they take up less space and open up very effortlessly. You can open this type of garage gate by just pulling it upwards and it is very simple.
