    Diatomaceous Earth

    • This is a natural insecticide made by the powdery fossils of diatoms. It cuts into the exoskeletons of insects and kills them by dehydrating them. Spread it around problem areas in your yard.

    Boric Acid

    • Boric is an inorganic insecticide that has a low level of toxicity. To pests such as roaches and ants it acts like a fungicide that is poisonous to them. Do not use this around pets, because it can be harmful to them if it is ingested.

    Fumigants

    • Fumigants are powerful gases used as an indoor insecticide. These are very dangerous to humans as well and are only used by qualified pest controllers.

    Biopesticides

    • Biopesticides are generally natural, organic and non-toxic insecticides. They are made from various plant parts, bacteria and animal materials that can directly affect and poison insects.

    Garlic

    • Garlic is a great natural insecticide and garlic spray has been a popular insecticide that can be made at home. Just soak some garlic in oil for about 24 hours and then add water in a 1:6 ratio (more water than garlic).
