103 5
Are you experiencing the growing pains of transition? Transitions lead use both collectively and individually, to lives which serve our spirits and feed our souls.
As great as the results may be, it can be strenuous.
It's common to feel ungrounded and insecure during these times of huge transition.
So how do you not only survive but thrive during times of great physical, mental and emotional change and instability? Rituals are the key.
Rituals act as anchors in times of instability.
They are touchstones throughout the day which keep us connected to our inner wellbeing and also to divine support.
We perform rituals all the time, often without even realizing it, such as having the morning cup of coffee, or laying out clothes at night for the next day.
Here is how to make the most of rituals in your daily life.
Make your rituals conscious.
Recognize what you're doing as a ritual and consciously acknowledge how it is contributing to your sense of wellbeing.
For instance, as you're preparing your morning coffee, focus on each step.
While you're drinking it reflect on how you intend to use this ritual to nourish your wellbeing.
Focus on the body mind and spirit.
In times of transition it's important that all parts of us stay grounded.
Make sure that your rituals are focused on each aspect of wellbeing.
You may want to take a daily walk to ground the body, read passages from an inspirational book to ground the mind, and say a daily prayer or mantra to connect to spirit.
Whatever you do, make sure that you take care of these three parts of your life.
Make your rituals practical.
Often people think of a ritual as a mystical pursuit filled with the intricacies of various symbolic acts.
While this is certainly one aspect of performing rituals, the average person in pursuit of daily support and grounding must get more practical.
First examine what you're already doing to anchor yourself during this transition period.
Again, it can be as simple as having the morning cup of coffee or taking the daily walk.
Next ask yourself what other simple routines you can consciously add to support your body mind and spirit, and do those things.
Be consistent.
When you do something on a daily basis at approximately the same time, it adds to your sense of stability.
Regardless of how much chaos is going on in your life you know that you will stop and nourish yourself in those moments of ritual.
This contributes immensely to your wellbeing.
Rituals which add the most to our sense of stability in times of transition are the ones you can do easily and consistently.
The key is to keep it real, keep it practical and to take care of all of you in the process.
