- 1). Wrap your key fob in a small amount of aluminum foil. This increases the range of your key fob through the interaction the fob has with the range-improving metal.
- 2). Avoid other vehicles or metal obstructions when you are parking your car. When you return to your car, you may find the signal is blocked and this gives the fob much less range.
- 3). Hold the fob as far away from the ground as possible. The ground reflects the signal and prevents it from reaching your vehicle as easily. Holding the fob over your head will mean less interference from the ground and more reliable results.
- 4). Place the fob directly under your chin if holding it above your head isn't working. The science behind this is not certain, but this method gives your fob increased distance.
