Hard Gainers Guide To Nutrition
This is especially true for hard gainers so ignore this advice at your peril! So by now you should know that eating every few hours is important for building muscle mass, but what kind of foods should you be eating? It can be pretty confusing these days with all the information thrown around about healthy foods but as long as you use a little common sense when you are shopping and you check the labels to make sure there are no nasties in the things that you are buying you shouldn't go far wrong.
Here a some of the foods that I always like to have in my cupboards:
- Cottage Cheese - This is a great little snack, I like to throw some pomegranate in too which tastes great.
This is a good snack to have before bed because of the slow releasing proteins. - Nuts - Nuts are another great snack that you can grab if you are in a rush, they are full of good fats so essential for hard gainers!
- Lean Meats - Turkey is a personal favourite of mine along with Beef but I also like to mix it up and go for something a little different like Venison sometimes.
- Avocados - This is another one packed full of healthy fats and it tastes great on toast with a little mustard and some sliced tomatoes.
That is one of my favourite breakfasts at the moment. - Eggs - Eggs are another vital ingredient in the muscle-building recipe book but don't throw away the yolks like a lot of people do because that is where all the nutrients are.
