- 1). Remove anything flammable from the area above and around where the candle sits. Three feet above the candle should be clear.
- 2). Remove all the packaging from the candle. Cut the candlewick with scissors so it's 1/8-inch tall.
- 3). Light the match. Hold it with the flame pointed slightly downward. Touch the tip of the match to the wick to light it. After you blow out the match, wet it and throw it away.
- 4). Blow out the soy candle after four hours. Repeat the steps when you want to relight the cooled candle.
