How to Solve Radical Equations With Real Numbers

104 6
    • 1). Get rid of the radical sign. For instance, if you have the equation: cuberoot(3x+1)=cuberoot(2x-7), cube both sides of the equation. This gives 3x+1=2x-7.

    • 2). Solve the equation, as a regular algebraic equation. Subtract 2x from both sides of the equation, to obtain x+1=-7.

    • 3). Subtract 1 from both sides of the equation, to obtain x=-8.
