The concept of the B&B has been around for centuries.
Many years ago Monks would offer travellers a bed and some form of breakfast in the monastery.

There are many reasons that people may open a B&B, some are ran by people who used to have high powered city jobs and wanted a more relaxing living.
Many are ran by people who own large houses and whose children have moved out, some by people who love to cook for others, the one thing they all have in common is they are social able and enjoy spending time with people.
They love to entertain guests in their house.
Many B&B owners have specific skills like cooking or an in depth knowledge of the local area and tourist attractions.
Anyone who decides to open a B&B must be prepared to put themselves out for others and accommodate people of all ages and from any background There are courses for available for people thinking of opening a B&B, and it's certainly a business that brings many of B&B owners much joy.
