Find Multiple Types of Bearings and Its Applications

105 3
The primary aim of using bearings in different machines and equipments is to reduce level of friction associated with their working. The ring shaped bearings lower wear and tear of machine and avoid frequent replacement of rolling or sliding parts to ensure better efficiency and productivity. These manage both radial or axial load as per the design and needs.

Bearings are the necessary and integral parts in many applications in our everyday life. Whether it is any household equipment like washing machine, fan or highly complex manufacturing machinery and automobile, one easily comes across their applications for different purposes.

Bearings Types and Their Applications:

Deep Groove Ball Bearings: Popular and frequently used bearings are ideal for managing radial load of machines working at greater rotating speeds. With uniform running, these lower noise and heat producing bearings are generally used in electrical motors, industrial and agricultural machinery, gearboxes and pumps.

Angular Contact Bearing: Available in single and double row configurations, these rigid bearings are suitable for high speed and precision operations. Compressors, Pumps, ventilators and machine tools make use of these bearings to accommodate both radial and thrust loads effectively.

Spherical Roller Bearings: Designed to manage heavy loading of equipments and better compensate any shaft deformation without causing breakdown. These bearings are mostly found in construction machineries, steel mills, traction motors, industrial gearboxes, axle boxes in railway and mechanical presses.

Self Aligning Bearings: Non separable double row radial bearings are better equipped with aligning ability to take care of mid malfunction or error occurring during working of a machinery. Being considered suitable for low radial and thrust loads, one can use these bearings in agricultural machinery, chemical factories and pumps.

Thrust Bearings: Able to bear relatively high axial loads in both directions and can limit shaft movement as per needs. These bearings are basically used in manufacturing of vertical shafts.

Tapered Roller Bearings: Built to deal with heavy axial and radial loading capacity. These support tilting movements in both directions when they are paired, and are applied in gearboxes, automobiles, conveyor system and industrial plants.

Material:

Materials used in bearings is an important consideration since the working and output of a machine or equipment are totally dependent on their ability to function continuously and manage stress and strain without malfunction or getting slow.

Hence better quality chrome steel rings and rollers are used in bearings for higher rigidity, load capacity and longevity.

While considering factors like anti-corrosion or heat-resistance to tackle extreme working conditions such as contaminated surroundings and higher temperature or moisture, quality of bearings matters the most. To maintain higher quality, the enterprises producing different bearings keep on focusing on their own research and development activities. While ensuring quality control, these organizations win confidences of customers with standard ISO certifications for their products.
