Health Insurance for Children Living in Delaware

Medicaid

• Medicaid provides a form of health insurance to many low-income Delaware residents, including children under the age of 19. Delaware Healthy Children Program

• The Delaware Healthy Children Program provides health insurance for some low income children under the age of 19 that do not qualify for Medicaid. Families pay a monthly premium for the coverage but they do not have to pay any co-pay for services they receive. The Delaware Healthy Children Program covers the same kinds of health care services that Medicaid covers.

• Many children receive health insurance through their parents' health insurance policies, which parents usually access through their jobs. Obviously, this is only an option for children whose parents have jobs that offer health insurance.
