Wedding Thank You E-Cards

Electronic wedding thank you cards or e-cards are an alternative to paper cards for newlyweds looking to be green and frugal. "Given that a wedding is one of the most profound and intimate experiences a bride and groom will share with their family and friends, each aspect of the event is a reflection of their values," writes Randy Paynter, founder and CEO of Care2.com, which makes a donation to a good cause for every free e-card you send. "So, it’s no wonder that more and more couples are looking for ways to demonstrate their environmental and social values."

Here are e-card examples and e-card etiquette –

E-Card Etiquette

If you opt to send electronic wedding thank you cards, know your audience. "There are no cut-and-dry rules," says Sarah Kolell, a spokesperson for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Mo. Indeed, if you need to thank your grandparents for a wedding gift, and they don’t own a computer, then you might want to consider sending some paper thank you cards, too. There are some basic etiquette rules to keep in mind. Be sure to get the correct e-mail addresses for those you need to thank. Don’t just send thank you cards to those who gave you gifts but also to those who helped you, such as the limo driver who gave you an extra 30 minutes for free. Personalize your e-cards, says Kolell: "Be true to yourself and who you are."
