- 1). Log into your WordPress account.
- 2). Click "Posts" from your dashboard. Open one of your articles or create a new one by clicking "Add new." Allow WordPress to load the post page.
- 3). Locate the "Tags" box on the post page. This is usually on the right-hand side of the window. If it is not on the page, click "Screen Options" on the top of the window and make sure that "Tags" is checked.
- 4). Type in the tag you wish to use in the "Add new tag" box and click "Add." This adds the custom tag to your post. You can do this for any number of your posts and add as many tags as desired.
