• Italian researcher Paulo Zamboni first discovered Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency in MS patients.
He claimed that these CCSVI conditions are strongly associated with Multiple Sclerosis.
He suggested that a Liberation treatment, simple procedure will be able to treat MS.
In this, a catheter with a deflated balloon is inserted into the patient's body.
Upon reaching the blockage areas, the balloon is inflated to clear the blockages.
• Study conducted at Buffalo University has found that more than 55 per cent of people with MS showed signs of CCSVI.
• Many recent studies have concluded that not many MS patients have CCSVI condition.
One such study conducted by Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Umea University, Sweden has concluded that they have not found any evidence confirming the relationship between MS and CCSVI.
These controversial results have made the medical fraternity feel the need of more research on CCSVI and MS.
