Chinchilla pellets and hay are basically good for their tummy.
Feed them as much as good amount of healthy fresh hay during the day.
Treats can be given to them but not so much to avoid them having diabetes.

Chinchilla Dust Bath Chinchillas do not have other means of cleaning themselves but by taking a bath in a volcanic ash.
A regular dust bath is very important for them to keep their coats clean, luxurious and healthy.
Chinchilla dust bath can be given at least twice a week though you can offer more frequent dust bath especially during humid weather.

Handle your pet chinchillas gently Your chinchillas are naturally adjusting to its new habitat therefore taming them is quiet a challenge.
Avoid neither shouting nor speaking in loud voices when you are near your pet.
Offer a treat like a small of raisin and put it on your palm let them get it by themselves.
Once they are successful offer more treat near the opening of the cage and do the same until they are used to being offered with treats.
Avoid chasing or holding their tails as they might think that you are attacking them.
Touch your chinchilla gently until they are used to.

Special Toys Like most rodents, chinchillas love to chew to keep their teeth in healthy condition that is why giving them special toys will make them more active and alive.
Wooden chew toys are good for them and chinchilla wheels can make them explore and play.
