- 1). Navigate to the Microsoft Works 8.5 product upgrade site (see Resources) to download the file.
- 2). Click the "Download Now" link under "Works 8 Customers." Click "Save" to download the upgrade file to your computer.
- 3). Double-click the upgrade executable file on your computer. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade.
- 4). Reboot your computer.
- 5). Click "Start" from the System Tray located at the bottom of the desktop. Click "All Programs" and click "Microsoft Works" from the list of applications.
- 6). Click the "Help" button from Microsoft Works and click "About Microsoft Works." The version displayed reads Microsoft Works 8.5 after the upgrade.
