Determine the exact time of birth of the questioner to the hour and minute. Find the exact longitude and latitude of their birthplace using a map or globe.

    • 2). Determine the lagna (ascendant, or rising sign), the birth star (Nakshatra), moon sign (the constellation where the moon was located), and what planets will influence the dasha and antardasha using the birthday and birthplace.

    • 3). Start the astrological chart by drawing a square that is framed by 12 smaller squares. Write the names of the constellations counterclockwise starting with the oldest (Pisces) in the top left hand corner, and ending with Aries.

    • 4). Cast the chart by organizing what planets were in what constellations at the time of the questioner's birth. For example, if that person was born with the moon sign Gemini in the year 1976, they would have the Sun, Moon and Venus under the sign Gemini.

    • 5). Fill in the rest of the chart, writing in multiple planets in a single box if you need to. Leave some spaces on the chart blank if needed.
