- 1). Select Donkey Kong as the team Captain. Donkey Kong will come with a required set of supporting characters, but the rest of the spots may be strategically filled in. It does not matter which characters are chosen to fill those spots for the purposes of the vine.
- 2). Enter "Challenge Mode" in Mario Superstar Baseball. "Challenge Mode" will involve defeating several different baseball teams with stadiums in exotic locations.
- 3). Climb the Vines in the jungle areas of "Challenge Mode" using Donkey Kong. Approach the vine and hit "A" to jump to it and then use the control stick to maneuver upwards. Donkey Kong is the only character in the game capable of climbing the vines.
