- 1). Download the necessary software to sync your phone with the computer. Usually, phone manufacturers will provide disks with the phone so you can install in the software, but if you do not have the disk, you can probably download it from the manufacturer's website. It will be under the support section. Open the program when the installation is complete.
- 2). Attach your phone to the computer with the USB cable that was provided with your phone at the time of purchase. If your phone has a micro or mini USB port, you can use a universal USB cable for it that can be purchased at any electronics store. If your phone did not come with a USB cable and does not have a mini or micro USB port, you can by a converter for the phone. Double check, first, if the software installed on your computer is compatible with the phone; if you have a phone that is not normally USB compatible, you may not be able to sync with the computer.
- 3). Allow your phone to sync after it is recognized by the computer. A lot of phones sync automatically once attached, but some you must click a syncing option within the phone's syncing program that you downloaded.
