A summary of tips, rules, restrictions and fees for flying with your pet on Air Berlin:
- Pets are allowed in the cabin or in the cargo hold.
- Pets must have space to stand and lie down.
- Registration of pets is required. Contact Air Berlin up to 48 hours prior to departure. Because space is limited Air Berlin suggests contacting them before booking to find out whether there is still room on your preferred flight for pets.
- Service dogs are permitted on board free of charge.
- Contact Air Berlin regarding special regulations for rodents. Reptiles of any kind are not permitted.
- Fees - in the cabin 20 EUR one way, in the cargo hold 30 EUR one way for short and medium-haul flights and 60 EUR one way for flights of 3,000 miles or more.
