It gets 49 city 61 highway and 53 combined The research done by real people driving real cars shows that a 2006 Honda Insight its a 3 cylinder, 1.
0 liter, 5 speed manual transmission it takes the cake with 52 MPG highway 91 MPG and combined 72.
7 MPG.
The average persons car will not get anywhere close to these two cars MPG and there is a simple reason why most cars driven today are gas powered engines these two cars are hybrids meaning they are ran off a electric engine which draws its power from a battery bank located some where in the car and they have small 3 cylinder generators that start while your driving and recharge the battery bank.
The average persons car will get around 24.
7 MPG and some of the reasons its like are very simple like the fact just sitting in traffic with a gas powered engine VS.
a hybrid when you sit in traffic and your car or truck is idling your MPG drops to 0 while a hybrid is electrically powered so it doesn't idle and it doesn't waste gas.
