Club Flowers

Wayne’s grandmother made the tiny yellow flowers of flour, water, Tempera paint, and florist wire. She made them during Club. Club was what they called the regular meetings of her ladies’ group.

Despite the days of deep cleaning, Wayne fondly recalls his grandmother’s turns to host. She served homemade strawberry cake and ice cold Cokes® in small glass bottles. Wayne was always allowed to partake. They usually kept Coke® in the house, but only bought it in the small glass bottles for Club.
