    • 1). Pet your cat to reassure it. Pick it up and put it on your lap or a table.

    • 2). Examine your cat's mouth. Use a small flashlight to look inside its mouth.

    • 3). Clean the sore with lukewarm water and a clean cloth. Remove any dirt and debris that may be in the cat's mouth.

    • 4). Press lightly on the cat's sore in the mouth with a clean dry piece of first-aid gauze to stop any bleeding or remove any discharge.

    • 5). Feed the cat canned food until the sore is healed so it is easier for it to chew.
