    • 1). Download the E.M. PowerPoint Video Converter from the EffectMatrix Software website. There are free and pay versions of the software, and both versions work on a Mac. The free version has everything you need to convert your PowerPoint file into a standard movie file. To install the converter to your computer, follow the installation screens.

    • 2). Upload the PowerPoint file that you want to convert to the E.M. PowerPoint Video Converter. To upload, click "Add" and select "Add File(s)" from the two options. Browse for the PowerPoint file on your computer and click "Open" to pull it into the converter.

    • 3). Select which file type you want to convert the PowerPoint presentation into. The screen to select a file type comes up automatically when you upload a file. AVI and MPG can both easily be burned to DVD.

    • 4). Name the PowerPoint movie file. Click the button with three dots next to the "File name" box. A "Save output files..." window will come up where you can type in a name for your file. If you would like to change the location where your converted movie file will be saved, you can do so by clicking on "Browse Folders." This will expand the "Save output files..." window to show all the folders on your hard drive. Once you have named the output file and located the folder where you would like the file to save on your computer, click "Save."

    • 5). Click "Convert." The PowerPoint file will convert to a movie file. A window will pop up to monitor the file conversion. When the conversion is done, the movie file will be available in the folder you selected.

    • 6). Open your favorite DVD-burning software. You can either burn the AVI or MPG file that the E.M. converter created straight to DVD, or you can create a DVD file. In most DVD-burning softwares, there will be an option on the "DVD Output" or "Burn DVD" screen to save the disc image. When you select this option and click the "Burn" button, the DVD-writing software will create a DVD file that can be burned at any time. Your original PowerPoint file is now in DVD format.
