American Airline Travel Information
- American Airlines increased fees for checking baggage in February 2010. Passengers can expect to pay $25 for the first checked bag, $35 for the second, $100 per piece for the third, fourth and fifth checked bags and $150 for any additional pieces. First-class and business-class customers can check three bags at no charge.
- Prices for infants and children flying American Airlines vary depending on travel plans. Children two and older must have their own ticket and travel in their own seat. Though infants under age two may travel in an adult's lap at no charge, for safety reasons American Airlines recommends purchasing a separate ticket and using an approved infant seat.
- American Airlines recommends passengers who require a wheelchair or need assistance getting into and out of the airplane make reservations as far in advance as possible so airline employees can prepare. If needed, American Airlines will provide a personal care attendant and provide assistance with passengers traveling with a service animal or traveling with a battery-powered respirator or ventilator.
