American Made is the Trend and Furniture Sales Are Increasing

101 1
The economy in America is finally becoming a positive thing. It is looking better for almost every product including furniture. However it is not cheap furniture that is on the rise, instead the trend is American made furniture which does not come cheap. Along with the increasing trend is the increasing market, with analysis coming in saying that February was the sixth consecutive month with an increase in sales for furniture companies.

While almost every household product in America is doing well, Furniture is one that has seen rough times. With many items being bought from foreign countries because of their discounted price the furniture economy was looking grim. However with Americans desiring American made, quality furniture, the outlook has made a tremendous change. The reasoning for this change may be the quality of the furniture or it could possibly be Americans just wanting to keep jobs close to home. Furniture is more of an artistic expression of self. By decorating your home with specific furniture you can express who you are to your guests and possibly open up the conversation a bit.

What other kinds of trends are doing well in furniture?

Patterned, textured and mirrored furniture is trending right now. Especially the composition of all three combined. A more British look is in right now along with tufted headboards and ottomans. Earth tones with brass mixed alongside vivid accents. Recycling furniture is also a part of the trending changes by reutilizing a piece of furniture or recycling something else into furnishing.

As trends change and the economy gets better however will we see cheap furniture come back into the trends? Could it be just as possible that high end foreign furniture will start to perform better in the future as well? Although this is just a loose prediction of the future of this industry it is a possibility.

However many furniture companies are ramping up their American made stock and producing more products. This is a good sign that the future of the furniture industry will at least stand a chance of staying in the United States. But cheap furniture made abroad will never truly be gone. It will only control a smaller share of the market. Companies like Ikea who provide a quality product for the cost will still hold their stake in markets like these because there will always be a small need.
