- The Tercel is a subcompact car produced by Japanese auto manufacturer Toyota Motor Company and priced just below the Corolla. The fourth-generation of the Tercel was built from 1991 to 1994 and offered in two-door coupe, three-door hatchback and four-door sedan body styles. All of the 1992 models are powered by the same engine.
- The 1992 Tercel is powered by a four-cylinder engine with an in-line configuration and 1.5 liters of displacement. This naturally aspirated, 12-valve motor is fuel-injected, generating 82 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 89 foot-pounds of torque at 4,400 rpm. The vehicle has an 11.9-gallon fuel tank.
- The 1992 Tercel subcompact relies on a 26-pound battery that measures 6.64 inches in length, 7.05 inches in width and 5.04 inches in height. This sealed-design, dry cell battery is connected to the vehicle using an SAE terminal.
- The Toyota Tercel does not require a heavy-duty battery, as power options in the economy-minded vehicle are limited. The Tercel's 12-volt battery has a 27-ampere-hour rating.
