Some employers are reluctant to implement new systems because of the challenge of having employees accept the changes. In addition to the cost of the system, there may be the added cost of employees who will need to be replaced because they choose not to adjust. With proper planning, training, and preparation, employees will see the benefits to themselves and the company. They will also feel confident that they can make the adjustments to it. Newer employees are going to be more accepting of changes than the senior staff.

It can be difficult to implement a new system, especially one that makes employees more accountable for their time. There are ways to implement a new system that will help all employees accept it, with the minimal amount of resistance, even from the senior staff.

* GIVE PLENTY OF NOTICE-one of the first things to do is choose a date that the implementation of the new system will begin. This will give time for employees to become familiar with the system and become trained on it.

* COMMUNICATE WITH EMPLOYEES-dont just talk about the changes, listen to the employees concerns and address them. Get their input on implementing change. Speak about the changes in a positive way.

* START CHANGES IN ADVANCE-when you are changing to a new system, like to monitor employees, start having them be more accountable for their time ahead of time. Before the changes begin, talk about it, for example pretty soon when you check on the patent, we will be able to monitor the time you do it.

* EXPERT TRAINING-having a thorough understanding and to feel well trained will help employees feel confident that they can handle the changes. Staff that has grown accustomed to the way things were being run and they feel confident in that system. They may struggle to learn new ways, so be sure they will have enough time.

* PLAN AHEAD-have extra staff available to implement new system and to finish training with hands on experience. Be sure there are a couple people who are able to help any employees who need help using the new system.

* BE POSITIVE THROUGH THE TRANSITION-there is always a positive side and you will need to encourage employees to see it. Management will need to lead the way. One of the advantages to increased employee monitoring is that work that is being done will be able to be documented and noticed.

When employees are involved and informed, they will be more likely to accept changes in systems that monitor task completion and schedule adherence at work. There will always be some employees that no matter what you do, they will resist changes and may not be able to make the adjustment.
