How to Stop a Virus Scan in Microsoft Word
- 1). Right-click the Norton AntiVirus icon in the taskbar on the bottom-right corner. Click "Settings."
- 2). Click the icon next to "Microsoft Office Automatic Scan" under the words "Computer Scans." This will change the setting from on to off.
- 3). Click the "OK" button. The AntiVirus scan will not be enabled.
- 1). Click the "Start" button on the lower left-hand side of your screen and then click "All Programs" at the bottom.

- 3). Click the orange button labeled "RUN IT NOW" under "Run LiveUpdate."
- 4). Click "Yes" if a message pops up asking you if it's OK to download the update.
