Almost every individual will experience heartburn at some time in their lives.
Usually, this is something that does not really bother people because they are thinking that it will simply go away.
Besides, there are easy ways to resolve this problem.
Unfortunately, there are some people who cannot exactly identify what a heartburn is.
All they know is that they are experiencing an uncomfortable feeling in the chest area.
Are you also having discomfort in your chest area? It is best to really know more about the facts regarding the symptoms so you can really identify if it is a heartburn or not.
Typical heartburn can make you feel a burning sensation near the chest.
Usually, this occurs after eating a heavy meal.
Heartburn should only last a few minutes and then it will eventually go away.
You can also feel chest pain after bending over or lying down.
Another symptom of heartburn is when you experience an unusual feeling in your throat that is similar to a hot, burning, acidic or salty taste.
This may happen at the back of your throat or the area near it.
It can also be accompanied by some difficulty in swallowing.
In other cases, you can also suffer from feeling a lump in your throat or chest.
Usually, this is just a simple discomfort that easily goes away.
Although, it is not something that you should take for granted especially if it happens frequently.
If it gets worse, it can also lead to having a chronic cough, a bad sore throat or hoarseness in voice.
The main reason why you experience this is because of the accumulation of acid within the digestive tract or commonly called as acid reflux.
The more specific term for this is Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease or GERD.
The common remedy for heartburn is antacid.
You have to be aware though that if you experience having heartburn too often, it is necessary to consult a physician or a medical expert so you can get a remedy that will be best for your heartburn.
