We have all seen the television Show Nip/Tuck about the doctors who perform cosmetic surgery.
The question how many of you have looked into the mirror and said to yourself, "If I could just lose this stomach, or I wish my nose was not so big?" We all have thought about having some work done, even if it is just a little tuck here or a slight adjustment there.
In this article I will arm you with the basic knowledge that any person considering having work done needs to know.
What is Cosmetic surgery? It is any surgical procedure that is designed to enhance your physical appearance.
The bad news in all of this is that unless the procedure is being done for reasons such as fixing a birth defect or repairing damage done by an accident, most insurance companies will not cover it.
Now you need to know this upfront, yes cosmetic surgery will give you a new look and may even make you feel better about yourself.
However it will not change who you are on the inside.
This means that if you are unmotivated then even after your tummy tuck you will still be unmotivated.
Most Common Cosmetic Surgery Procedures Lets look at the most common forms of cosmetic surgery, there is liposuction, nose job, face lift, tummy tuck, breast enlargement and breast reduction.
this is by no means the full extent of what all a surgeon can do for you and your cosmetic needs.
You these days can have almost every part of your body worked on, everything from your eyelids all the way down to having a scar removed.
You need to make sure that any doctor you choose to do your work is certified as a licensed professional , and has the certification to perform the necessary procedures that you request.
when you sit down and talk to your doctor about the procedure you want performed You'll want to ask the following questions when you are interviewing the doctor: 1.
Find out how long the doctor has been certified? 2.
How long has the doctor done this particular procedure? 3.
Find out what you can expect from this procedure being done, both the good and the bad.
4.
Are there any potential risk from having this procedure done? 5.
Is there anything that I need to do to prepare for my procedure? 6.
How long will i miss from work or my normal social activity? These are just a few of the questions you need to ask your doctor when you go and consult with them for the first time.
It can be a little intimidating thinking about having a part of you body modified by a complete stranger.
But if you go into it with common sense and armed with the research you have done then you will have absolutely no problems and with a little luck will love the final outcome.
Cosmetic surgery is not just for movie stars anymore, now anyone can have work done and end up with a million dollar body regardless of your age.
