How Does Green Tea Lower Blood Sugar?

103 1
There's a lot that's been written about green tea in recent times, much of it good.
One of the reasons for the sudden spike in interest is due to some startling findings.
Those scientific findings examined if it lowered blood sugar.
I must admit that I was a tad ignorant of what green tea was at first, I had been a normal tea drinker for ages and I'd somehow always associated it as a herbal tea drink.
Of course there's some truth to that, but it's also been under the spotlight for other reasons.
Those reasons are centered around the many health related benefits to drinking it.
Even many health experts now agree that green tea acts as an antioxidative, an anti inflammatory and also as an anti carcinogenic.
This article will briefly examine just a sample of the links between this compound and diabetes sufferers.
There's no denying it's a medical condition that's seeing the numbers who are afflicted growing annually worldwide.
So, one quite important question hanging over the health debate is does it lower blood sugar? One study carried out in Japan in 2004 suggested it did offer some protection against type 2 diabetes.
it showed a noticeable improvement in what's known as glucose metabolism when tested on diabetic mice and, in humans without the disease who consumed the green tea.
Such discoveries are welcome news and I'm sure that there is still much more to be done by medical researchers, and by those who produce these types of products.
