Off the Sheet

106 1
Definition:

Throwing a strike on every shot remaining in the game.

This can be applied at any point in the game. For instance, if you're in the sixth frame and say you can take it off the sheet, it means you're going to strike in that frame and every frame until the end. The same applies if you start in the eighth or the first or any frame at all.

Obviously, bowlers always want to take it off the sheet as it maxes out their scores.

The term "sheet" comes from manual scoring in which you have to write an X in for every strike. Writing it in every box takes it off the sheet.

Also Known As: Strike out

Examples: Jason needed to take it off the sheet for a 269, his personal best score of all time.
