- 1). Shut down all of the applications and programs running on your computer. Turn off the laptop. Remove all cords and cables from the laptop.
- 2). Put the laptop on a flat surface. Turn it over so you are looking at the bottom. At this point, touch something metal to ground yourself.
- 3). Slide the battery latches to the unlock and release positions. Lift the battery out of the laptop.
- 4). Unscrew the single screw that is holding the memory module door on the laptop. The memory module door is in the center of the back of the laptop.
- 5). Spread the clips away from the RAM module and slide the module out of the laptop.
- 6). Match the module's notch with the knob in the slot. Slide the module into the slot at a 45-degree angle. Press down on the module so it lies flat in the compartment.
- 7). Put the door back on the laptop and fasten the screw. Put the battery back in the laptop. Connect the cables and cords and turn on the laptop.
