There are many different myths about toning abs.
Getting those rock hard abdominals could take some time to sift through the myths and find the truths.
When you want to get the body you have always dreamed of, it will benefit you to know what those myths are so that you can avoid them.
Myth 1: Only cardio is needed to build a six pack.
This is very incorrect.
Doing only cardio alone will simply cause your body to burn a lot of lean muscle, as well as fat.
Burning the fat is good, but burning lean muscle will not give you the hard, toned abs that you are looking for.
You will need strength training to tone the muscles at the same time you are burning off the fat.
Myth 2: You only need to do strength training to get the toned abs you crave.
This is equally untrue.
If you only use strength training exercises, you will build muscle but there will be a layer of fat over top of that muscle, making the work you have done invisible.
You need to start your workouts with cardio, and end them with strength training.
Myth 3: Crunches are the best exercises to do for a six pack.
This is false, because crunches are not very demanding on your muscles.
They are a pretty easy exercise, where you will not be challenging your muscles enough to make a difference.
Crunches generally work out the upper abdominal region and don't do much for the lower.
You will need a variety of challenging exercises to give you the best possible workout.
There are many myths surrounding toning abs.
When you are able to avoid these myths and find the real ways to tone your abs, you will get better results and you will get them faster than if you were to follow the myths.
