- 1). Click the "Start" button and type "Paint" into the "Search" box.
- 2). Click "Paint" when it appears under the "Programs" list.
- 3). Click "File" and "Open." Navigate to the JPEG image you want to convert and double-click to open it.
- 4). Click "File" and "Save as."
- 5). Click the drop-down menu next to "Save as Type." Choose any of the four bitmap options from the list. The four options are: Monochrome, 16 Color, 256 Color and 24-bit. Monochrome bitmaps are black and white. The 16 color and the 256 color bitmaps include the number of colors described in the name of each and 24-bit bitmaps include 24 pixels per inch.
