Nero Expert Features
- Nero Burning Rom, more commonly referred to as Nero, is a software program that writes data to CDs and DVDs. The popular program is easy to use and is helpful for burning files, music and videos to discs with the use of a recorder. Advanced options for the program are available to expert users and can be found under through the program's preferences. The majority of the Nero expert features are dedicated to overburning discs, which is the process of writing more data than the normal capacity stated on the disc.
- This option will allow a CD to be burned over its normal capacity. If you have a large file that takes up more room than the CD allows, Nero will allow you to overburn it by a few minutes. Some CD players have trouble reading CDs that are overburned.
- Set how many minutes a disc will be overburned. The maximum overburn capacity isn't determined automatically, so you have to manually add a few minutes over the capacity that's recommended on the CD.
- Overburning a DVD is the same as overburning a CD. It allows you to write more data to the DVD than is specified on the disc. Compatibility issues are a problem with some DVD players, and therefore overburned discs can't always be read.
- By default the disc is ejected after it has been burned. Selecting this option will leave the disc in the recorder after the burn process has completed.
- By default, Nero only displays a list of CD/DVD recorders that it automatically discovers. To show a list of all available recorders, this option can be selected. This is useful if you want to burn a DVD image on your hard drive, but don't have a DVD burner connected to your computer.
