How to Remove a Backdoor DN

Registry Removal

• 1). Click "Start" and type "Regedit" in the search box. The Registry Editor utility displays on screen.
  
  
• 2). Click the "Edit" menu and then click the "Find" option from the drop-down menu.
  
  
• 3). Type the following registry paths one by one in the "Find what" box:
  
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
  
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
  
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software \Microsoft \Windows \CurrentVersion \RunServicesOnce
  
  HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
  
  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
  
  HKEY_CURRENT_USER \Software \Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Policies\ Explorer\Run
  
  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft \Windows\ CurrentVersion
  
  Explorer/ShellFolders Startup="C:\windows/start menu/programs\startup
  
  
• 4). Right-click the entries, after finding each path, and click the "Delete" option from the drop-down menu. Close the Registry Editor utility.
  
  

Clear the System WIN.ini File

• 1). Click "Start" and type "WIN.ini" in the search box. Click the "WIN" file shortcut. The Win.ini file launches in the Notepad application.
  
  
• 2). Locate the strings "Run=Backdoor.Win32.EggDrop.dn" and "Load=Backdoor.Win32.EggDrop.dn." Select the text "Backdoor.Win32.EggDrop.dn" and delete it.
  
  
• 3). Click the "File" menu and click the "Save" option. Close the Notepad application.
  
  

Delete Temporary Internet Files

• 1). Click "Start" and then type "Disk Cleanup" in the search box. Click the Disk Cleanup application shortcut.
  
  
• 2). Click the "Temporary Internet Files" check box and any other check boxes that you want deleted. Click the "OK" button to begin the process.
  
  
• 3). Click the "Delete Files" button when Windows displays the "Are you sure you want to permanently delete these files" dialogue box. The Disk Cleanup utility closes automatically after removal.
