With the growing number of people suffering from spine ailment called scoliosis, does that mean we would be seeing more and more people walking around town wearing braces on their bodies that stands out like as if they were wearing bullet-proof vests? Well, not necessarily.
While wearing braces would help correct a person's spine, modern technology has offered other remedial measures such as spinal fusion.
Spinal fusion they say is the most widely performed surgery for scoliosis.
Here, a bone would be taken from another part of the patient's body, or if he or she is lucky, there would be a donor whose bone would be grafted to the vertebrae that would, in time, form one solid bone mass and the vertebral column becomes rigid.
Or you could try option number three, go check what chiropractic alternative medicine could do for you.
It is said that chiropractic, accompanied by physical therapy, has at some point achieved a degree of success.
While there is no one hundred percent guarantee that using these methods would address severe bone deformities, their techniques and therapeutic exercises to increase a person's flexibility and strength.
There are palliative benefits to undergoing chiropractic treatment and physical therapy.
Those who have been tired walking stiff with their uncomfortable braces on for several hours can find some relief in chiropractic medicine and physical therapy.
Scoliosis is a progressive disease that has to be addressed.
While it may not be classified as immediate life threatening, it should not be brushed aside.
Once it is detected, sometimes during childhood or early teen years, it should be treated because it could lead to pain, stiffness and severe spinal deformity.
Since the spine is connected to the rib cage, the pressure from the severe spinal distortion could have an adverse effect on some organs and nerves.
