- 1). Purchase an RGB to VGA scaler. This scaler has an RGB input on one end and a VGA output on the other. A signal passes through the scaler and is converted into a signal that a VGA input device can read.
- 2). Power off all of your equipment. Disconnect the computer and television from the electrical outlet to prevent a risk of injury or damage from electrical shock.
- 3). Connect the scaler to the output device using the RGB cable.
- 4). Connect the scaler to the input device using the VGA cable.
- 5). Reconnect the power to your equipment and turn the equipment on. The scaler may also require a connection to a separate power source. The signal should now flow through the scaler, allowing you to use a VGA monitor with an RGB signal.
