How Kitchen Tiles Are Manufactured And Produced
Makers of ceramic tiles can use slightly varying processes in the production of their kitchen tiles but they are all essentially made using the same theme. Ceramic kitchen tiles are usually made from clay. Ingredients such as water and sand are added to it and it ground to make a very fine powder which is the basis of the tile. The fine powder is compressed together using extremely high pressure which also makes it into the shape and thickness of the finished tile. The vast amount of pressure used is what gives the tile its strength which makes it very hard wearing as well as very versatile in its many uses. After compression, the kitchen tiles are dried and are then ready for the next phase of manufacture.
Once thoroughly dried the kitchen tiles are then glazed on one site. The glaze can either be applied by silkscreen or using a spray gun. The glaze gives the ceramic tiles their shiny waterproof finish. Prior to adding the glaze, the tiles can have colouring, designs and marking s added to them to improve and alter their appearance. After this process comes the most important area of production. They are baked and amazingly high temperatures which fuse all of the elements together making them very strong, hard wearing, stain resistant and water permeable. The hotter the temperature they are baked at, the more hard wearing the tile is that is produced.
