The camera lens made by Canon that is being popularly used by photographers, amateur and professional alike, is the Canon EF 70-300 mm. It is the first one to have an image stabilizer feature that has already been built in their system. Also, the Canon EF 70-300 mm USM is known all over the world, especially among photographers, because of the effectiveness of its wide range of focal length, very affordable price, tiny size, and extremely light weight.

The image stabilizer is in its third generation, and it has contributed quite largely to the general design of Canon EF 70-300 mm, which is a generally flexible design. Supposedly, this particular lens can be handheld when the focus is at a 300 mm distance, along with a shutter speed of 1/45. Still, an operation like this can only bring successful results when the photographer complies with the general rules of photographers all over the world, called the 1/ focal length rule.

This lens can give photographers the images that they want because they provide a range of images that the picture takers can simply choose from. For instance, the lens gives images with a secondary shutter speed of either 1/5 orwhen the object in focus is at 70 mm. It can also indicate a speed of 1/25 for an object that is situated 300 mm from the photographer.

Representatives of Canon say that the best part of the cameras or the camera lenses they produce are the gyrosensors. In fact, Canon EF 70-300 mm has a lot of well-functioning gyrosensors that actually work by detecting any unnecessary vibrations that can somehow alter the results of the images.

When the lens's gyrosensors detect any movement, no matter how small or subtle, the lens group moves to correct itself so that the entire system of the lens is maintained at a perpendicular angle with the general optical axis. When this occurs, the light path of the lens can be altered.

Canon EF 70-300 mm has an automatic tripod sensing that prevents any feedback loops from affecting the sensors installed within the image stabilizer. This tripod sensing also prevents anything from disrupting the motor vibrations that can happen to the lens's image stabilizers. Without any disturbances, there is no possibility that the image taken by the photographers will change.

To be able to control or manipulate the image stabilizer much more efficiently, Canon installed some switches that the picture takers can very easily access. The purpose of these switches is to make sure that any accidental changes to the images can be avoided.
