I hope they take a moment to consider who this girl is, A reflection of a person we've created, through this thing we call "show biz!" Is it any wonder a child should lose her way, When we spend so much money on, the things that we call play? Why, an actor is only acting, pretending, one would say, Until that same dear actor, loses sanity on their way.
How quickly those who gave her laud and brought her to such fame, Will shun, desert, and point their fingers, to encompass her with shame! Oh I'm not a fan of Britney, but then, I never was, However I'll stand up for her as a human, whose life has gone on pause! I'll pray that she'll regain herself, walk away from degradation, And hope that those who helped her stumble, bring perspective with relation, To the responsibility we must accept, for those who lose their way, After making them into idols, to whom we do everything but pray! Perhaps as we stop and ponder, why Britney's not our friend, We'd be better to consider, how to help put her on the mend.
When we look up to the runway, see the thirteen year olds we pay, Perhaps we should consider if we'll see them in Britney's shoes one day! Oh yes mankind you'd better look and count the cost you bear, Britney didn't get there, without audiences doing their share! Cheryl G Burke
