Warks A vs Bucks A County Pool Report
With a few changes to the 'A' squad, due to fact that i wanted to experiment a little, it was gonna be a huge test today. For the second time this season the first session was started by Franco Marsala and Scott Rutter. Franco got us off to a great start with a fine win over Karl Knight but unfortunately Scott and then peter hallet losing the next two pt us one behind. Next 2 games were shared, out win coming from Terry Davidson, 2-3 warcs... What happened next was lovely to watch, 6 in a row from the bucks, OWZAT!!! wins coming from Paul Anderson, David Larner, Stuart Douglas, Steve Appleby, Dan Morgan and Jimmy 'wheres my trophy' Wharton. First session 8-3 to the mighty Bucks.
Franco and Scott continued the success in the 2nd session with fine wins but warcs hit back winning the next four but then the Bucks hit back winning the next 5 thanks to David, Stuart, Steve, Dan and Jimmy giving us the session 7-4.
Then disaster hit, i think we relaxed a little too much and warcs came out and won 8 on the trot. It was not looking so comfortable now and bringing warcs right back in it at 15-15. Bucks took the next 3 thanks to Steve, Dan and Jimmy, giving us a 3 game lead heading into the last session.
The shock of losing 8 on the trot woke us up a little and we played a much improved last session winning it 7-4 and a 25-19 overall victory. Wins coming from Scott, Peter Hallet, Yes!! PETER HALLETT!!!, Paul, Stuart, Steve, Dan and Jimmy.
A fantastic performance from our team and a well deserved victory and a huge well done for those playing in the 'A's for the first time this season especially David who gor 2/4.
Another well done to Jimmy who managed to whinge and moan enough throughout the day to earn the Man of Match. Congrats also to Sean 'pastures new' Gourley who decided that the only way he was ever gonna get a man of match trophy was to feck off to the 'B's and get 3/4.... well done matey. P.S. seriously scott, you wont find it on google maps, although now i am fairly sure that he will try it anyway and come up with some random place in the outer hebrides which is indeed called 'Pastures New' were everyone there is related and has 7 toes on each foot, scotts birth place maybe??
Fantastic result for the 'B's also, winning 30-14. Better still was the 34-10 win from the fabulous Bunnies which made them region 5 chapions for the 4th time in a row with a game to spare... Have that region 5.. Congrats to Kerry Ann Hunt for 4/4 and a well deserved player of match award..
All in all a great day for bucks and a lot to look forward to in the last game against Herefordshire. Im already looking forward to next season.
Up the Bucks
