How to Tell If an NFL Jersey Is Authenic?
- 1). Look at the cuffs. The sleeves on real jerseys are not cinched at the cuff, but tapered at the cuff.
- 2). Examine the crispness of the details. An authentic jersey will be crisp and clean with nothing out of sorts. The color in an authentic jersey is another tip off. If the jersey color is slightly faded or light, then it is a fake.
- 3). Check out the holes in the jersey itself. They will be tight and uniform throughout. If you have a jersey that you know is real, compare the two. Holes in the real jersey will be smaller.
- 4). Measure the length. Real jerseys are long, much longer than a regular sweat or T-shirt.
- 5). Analyze the stitching. On a real jersey it will be extremely precise throughout with no mistakes. The thread will barely overlap the edges.
- 6). Read the label. Authentic jerseys are not made in China and the tag is a bit longer than tags that you see on other sports apparel.
- 7). Check out the spandex grain collar. Real jersey have vertical grain while fakes are horizontal. Also look at the NFL logo shield. The stitching on the ball will be visible and the stars will be crisp.
