Adding Designer Furniture To Your Existing Decor Requires An Eye for Style

103 34
Are you thinking about adding some designer furniture to your existing home décor? It's a very tempting move; after all, what better way to add a touch of designer chic to your home than to add designer furniture? Just a touch of designer style can add all sorts of flair to your home; ranging from elegance and modernity, to even youth and cuteness, depending on the furniture you choose.
Whilst it is true that adding some designer furniture to your existing décor can be a way to really spruce up your home, it is not always an easy move to make.
In fact, some designers would say it's easy to spoil your home décor by choosing the wrong pieces.
Be forewarned if you opt to use designer furniture to spruce your home up, it pays to know exactly what you're doing.
Let's be honest; some people just don't have an eye for style.
It's nothing to be ashamed of, it's just one of those facts of life.
That is why so many excellent home designers and stylists are paid excellent salaries to turn homes from "drab" to "fabulous!" They know what they're doing and how to do it.
Don't be scared to consult them.
Those without an eye for chic may find it difficult to really know how to add style to a home.
When you are designing a room or home from scratch, it's pretty easy to ensure that everything, from the furniture to the flooring and the walls, forms a cohesive, attractive style.
However, when you're adding designer furniture to existing décor, you are "forcing" an outside design element into your already cohesive room, and if you do it badly, the end result is less than desirable.
How can you avoid this décor disaster? The best way is by simply consulting an interior designer to help you with the project.
They are, of course, trained to have an eye for style and will be able to help you find the best way to work your new designer piece into your home.
If you don't have the money for this, or you want to try fitting in the piece yourself, then you will have to ensure that the piece suits your room as best as possible.
Ask yourself the following questions when adding a designer piece, or designer pieces, to the existing décor in your home: Do the colors of my existing décor and the designer furniture work well together? Does this designer piece stand out in a garish or bad way? If the designer furniture had been part of my décor plan from the start, where would I place it-if at all? Remember, nothing is set in stone.
If you don't like the placement of the furniture at first, try a different set-up! You may not be able to give yourself an eye for style overnight, but by making sure you ask the right questions will ensure that you are on the right track.
