    • 1). Load your DVD into your computer's disc tray. Open up the DVD rip program and sample the video at 24 frames per second. Connect the DAT machine to the speaker output of the computer. Insert a blank digital audio tape (DAT) into the machine. Press "Record" on the DAT machine and press "Play" on the DVD video file to record the movie soundtrack.

    • 2). Install the PCI controller board that came with the film recorder into the computer's motherboard. Connect the film recorder cable to the jack on the controller board slot. Install the film recorder's raster software. Load the DVD video file into the program and set it to print the film negative. Subsequently, load the DAT into the optical sound processor's tape deck and print an optical sound negative.

    • 3). Prepare a dark room by shutting out all light and placing red dark room bulbs in the light fixtures. Sandwich the picture negative and soundtrack negatives together emulsion against emulsion and run them through a contact printer to create the finished 35mm film print.
