- 1). Open the can of Zar polyurethane using the paint can opener.
- 2). Sweep the object off with the dry and clean cloths. This is done to remove dirt, dust, and other debris from the object that is to be finished.
- 3). Paint the first coat of polyurethane on the object. Allow to dry overnight. Sand the first coat with 280-grit sandpaper and then wipe down the object with a damp cloth. Depending on the size of the object, you may need more than one cloth to wipe the entire object.
- 4). Apply two more coats of the oil based polyurethane to the object. Allow the polyurethane to dry and cure completely. This process may take up to 24 hours per coat.
- 5). Throw away the foam brushes in the plastic bag and tie up the bag.
