106 1
Laura Vegas shares this spring scrapbook page idea that shows you a creative way to combine several different patterned papers to create one adorable scrapbook page layout. This scrapbook page uses several optional techniques such as distressing the paper edges and machine stitching. Remember that you can add these techniques to your page if you wish or create an alternate version that can be completed quickly and easily.

Basic Scrapbook Tools Needed: Paper trimmer, scissors, adhesive, dimensional adhesive, edge distresser (optional), white card stock, and a sewing machine (optional).

To make the sample scrapbook page exactly as shown here (with your own photos inserted), you will need the following supplies. Of course, you can also substitute with other patterned papers and embellishments as desired.

Paper, Stickers, Chipboard, and Embellishment Supplies Needed: Bella Blvd. Patterned Papers including 1 sheet each of Spring Patchwork (Item #836), Sunshine (Item #837), Gingham Green (Item #839), Hippity Hop (Item #840), Eggstravaganza (Item #841), and Daily Details (Item #843) from the Simply Spring collection. Bella Blvd. Treasures & Text stickers (Item #848) and Clouds Clear-Cuts (Item #844) also from the Simply Spring collection.

Other Embellishments include - Chipboard: Icons (Item #850)  (Simply Spring collection). WhatNots (Item #957), Symbols (Item #960), Flowers & Clouds (Item #959) (Color Chaos collection) and Amorie White (Item #829) (Amorie Chipboard Alphas); Bella Bows White (Item #940); and Enamel Dots: Guacamole (Item #952), Ice (Item #945), White (Item #956), Cotton Candy (Item #962).

Step by Step Instructions to Create the “Sunshine & Smiles” Scrapbook Page Layout:

1. Use one full sheet of white cardstock as the layout base.

2. Trim two 3.5 inch x 4 inch pieces from the Sunshine patterned paper (you will use one rectangle showing each side of the patterned paper), and one 5 inch x 4 inch piece from Gingham Green patterned paper; distress the edges and machine stitch around the edges of each paper (optional) and adhere along the left side of the base scrapbook page as shown.

3. Trim a 3.5 inch x 3.5 inch square piece from Eggstravaganza (you will use the yellow gingham backside) patterned paper, a 5 inch x 3.5 inch piece from Hippity Hop (you will use the heart backside), and a 3.5 inch x 3.5 inch square piece from Daily Details

(using the aqua backside) patterned paper; distress edges and machine stitch around edges of each paper (optional) and adhere along right side of page of the base scrapbook page as shown.

4. Trim a 4.5 inch x 12 inch piece from Spring Patchwork (using the pink wood grain backside) patterned paper, and a 4.5 inch x 12 inch piece from Clouds Clear Cut transparency. Distress the edges of the pink wood grain patterned paper. Layer the clouds transparency on top of the pink wood grain paper and machine stitch together. Adhere vertically in the center of the page.

5. Print two 3 inch x 4 inch vertical photos and adhere them in the center of the scrapbook page using dimensional adhesive for extra lift.

6. Locate the Simply Spring Chipboard Icons and remove the “sunshine” chipboard letters, adhering in center of the page below the photos. Locate Amorie White chipboard alphas, and use to complete the title as shown.

7. Add any journaling you would like to add and also embellish page with additional stickers, chipboard accents, Bella Bows, and Enamel Dots as desired.
