The Art of War Guide to Candida Causes
Before we go into battle against yeast infections it is important to know the enemy.
To quote Sun Tzu:
It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.Putting it simply means that to be able to achieve true victory, we should know well ourselves and our enemy.
Applying this nugget of wisdom from the book, The Art of War, will give you a better understanding so that you'll be able to cure your infection plus prevent it from reoccurring permanently.
Candida albicans, the primary culprit of yeast infections reside normally in our body.
They are usually harmless living peacefully amongst the bacteria and normal floras.
Infection occurs when there's a disruption in the balance between that population.
If there's an overgrowth of candida in let's say your vaginal area, ten you have a high risk of contracting vaginal yeast infection.
These infections also occur when our immune system is weak and our defenses are low.
Our immune system is capable of protecting us from them but when certain conditions weaken our defenses, the nasty yeasts become opportunistic and attack our body.
Now you know the main reasons on why candida causes infections.
You now know more about the enemy.
Next, you'll know more about yourself.
I'll be discussing several conditions in which you can adjust to lowering the risk of infection.
Clothing that traps air and promotes moisture You should avoid wearing tight and dirty underwear or clothing.
Use cotton made ones so that you may lessen moisture around these areas and have good air circulation.
You see, yeasts love heat and moisture and they reproduce faster in these conditions.
Injury on the skin and other parts of the body This happens a lot to women during the menopausal stages.
What happens is that they don't have enough lubrication during sex which leads damage in the vaginal membranes.
Use lubricants to avoid this.
Too much cleaning Too much of something is always bad and the same is true with cleaning yourself.
Don't over wash the vaginal area because you'll be destroying the "good" bacteria which are important in having balance in our body.
It's a good idea not to wash the vaginal area with soap.
Use Feminine washes instead.
Foods rich in sugar Yeasts love feeding on sugar therefore starving them is a good idea.
Plus, there are studies which tell us that eating too much sugar can reduce our defense against infections.
You should definitely minimize or avoid eating sugary foods.
Antibiotic treatment As I've said before, if there's a disruption in the balance between the organisms in our body, an infection occurs.
This thing happens when you're under antibiotic treatment.
The "good" bacteria are destroyed and the yeasts overgrow.
This is a good reason why you shouldn't always use drugs whenever you feel something.
Take antibiotics only if prescribed by your physician or only if it's really necessary.
Avoid chemicals Using chemicals can cause irritation and trigger allergic reactions which may lead to an infection.
Avoid the following:
- Using colored tissue paper to wipe it down there
- Powdering the vaginal area
- Washing your crotch with perfumed soap
- Using scented tampons or sanitary pads
Adjusting your lifestyle to these candida causes will help greatly in lowering the risk of infection.
Remember to strengthen your immune system by eating right, taking vitamins and exercising.
A healthy body is very hard for the bad guys to penetrate.
Now, you will not fear even a hundred battles against yeast infections.
