How to Troubleshoot a Drip System
- 1). Check that water is turned on and water pressure is available. Check that timers are set to be on at the time of inspection.
- 2). Check to see whether water is leaking by walking the length of delivery system. Check all lines for crimps preventing water flow.
- 3). Look for tubing that may have popped off of the system. If tubing or sprinklers are popping off the main system, install a pressure reducer at the beginning of the system. Replace missing parts.
- 4). Check that all sprinklers are dripping at an appropriate rate. If they are open but not dripping, turn off the water, remove the sprinkler and check for blockage. Clear blockages and replace the sprinkler. If the sprinkler cannot be cleared, replace it with a new one. Adjust sprinklers to the flow desired.
- 5). Turn on the water and run a final check to make sure the system is performing properly.
